Does Futurmechanic require AutoFutur or KoneFutur to work?

Yes. Futurmechanic is the technician view of AutoFutur and KoneFutur, not a separate system. All entries — time clockings, reports, parts and status changes — synchronise directly with the workshop's ERP in both directions.

What devices does the app work on?

Accepted Answer

Futurmechanic is browser-based and device-independent, so it works on a phone, tablet and desktop without a separate installation. The interface is designed mobile-first and is touch-friendly.

Does the app work if there is no network connection in the workshop?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Entries made in offline mode are queued and synchronise automatically when the connection returns. A local cache keeps work-order data visible even during outages.

What does the app's AI assistant do?

Accepted Answer

The Improve with AI function turns the raw text dictated or typed by the technician into a clear report — separately for a customer-visible report, an internal note or a customer remark. The AI does not invent faults or change technical values, and the technician accepts or rejects the suggestion before saving. Text fields can also be dictated by voice in Finnish, Swedish, English or Estonian.

How do time tracking and the clock card work?

The technician records the start and end of the working day as well as breaks, and clocks work time at the work-order or work-line level with a timer. The app detects overlapping clockings and warns about them, and work time can be itemised as, for example, training, waiting time or sick leave.

What vehicle information does the technician see?

The work order shows the registration number, fleet number, make and model, VIN, service-contract status, service interval, the most recent service and the next inspection date. The vehicle's service history can be opened by registration number directly in the app.

Can parts and photos be added to the work order from the app?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Parts and products are searched with real-time stock balances and added to work lines, and for picking there are picking instructions and a link to the FuturStock picking app. Photos and videos can be taken directly with the app's camera and attached to the work order in cloud storage.
